OPPORTUNITY “OPP” SHOP

REPORT

2008

We have had a very busy and successful year. Our volunteers number approximately 23 with 10 of these from St. Paul’s and St. John’s churches.  The remaining 13 volunteers are from the surrounding community.  Our gross income from November 30, 2007 through November 30, 2008 was $140,219.46, and our operating expenses were $28,852.45 leaving us with a net income of $111,367.01.

In accordance with our by-laws, most of our donations went back to the local community. The following is an excerpt from those by-laws:

Charitable organizations receiving OPP Shop funds may be local, regional or national. The majority of funds should be directed back to the local community…

Our donations this year went to:

Beginning this year, we have started an OPP Shop Building Fund of $40,000 per year. We are hoping that we can find land to build or a suitable building for our needs. The OPP shop is a very important part of King George County. Many local people rely on us.
